Tshiremba, who scored four tries in as many tournaments, limped off in Vancouver and missed the next two tournaments in Los Angeles and Hong Kong, but she has now fully recovered to add punch to the South African attack.

Springbok Women's Sevens coach, Renfred Dazel, said Tshiremba will add pace to their attack, as she has scored some excellent tries during the campaign. “Overall, Maria was good for the system, obviously a few mistakes from my side when she came to the system.

“I think she did very well in Perth for us a team scored a match winning try against GB and i think it gave us confidence again it’s nice to have her back after her injury that she picked up in Vancouver.”
